A commercial insurance analyst by day, a novelist by night, Sheila received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Journalism. Her favorite poem is “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost.



Mrs. Suggs-Armstrong received inspiration to write “Yellow Button” through her adventures as a mother and in her work as a youth ministry volunteer. When the Goliath of a bully taunted Sheila as an adult, like David in the bible, she had to confront her own fears. Seeking the advice of her mother, Sheila implemented a plan to Speak Up, Speak Out and Speak Life. Because of this experience, Ms. Armstrong is passionate about partnering with parents and guardians to empower children to face their scary bullies using these same tools.
